You came to the right place!
Are you ready to create an entirely new look for the next season or to simply find pieces to update your current one?
But do you have next to nothing to spend on new clothes?
This article is for you.
We all want to look fashionable, but we also all know how expensive it can be to keep a wardrobe up-to-date.
If you have a passion for fashion, but find yourself lacking on the cash end of the equation – try these five Fashion Tips for looking fabulous on a budget all year round.
You will be sure to get some exciting new pieces while saving your hard-earned paycheck.
1. Shop Post-Season Sales
This applies especially if you live in a climate that doesn’t completely follow the same seasons as the fashion industry.
If you live in the south, you can easily find discounts on summer clothing around September when stores start putting out their fall gear.
Try the opposite if you live in a colder climate, and look for winter clothing sales around January or February to score pieces that can carry you through spring and into the start of summer.
When you are purchasing any item of clothing, you are mainly paying for the design and the name of the designer.
Don’t fall into the trap of paying more for items that you can easily find for less elsewhere.
If you are thinking of paying over $30 for an article of clothing made of 100% polyester (one of the cheapest and least breathable fabrics), consider finding a similar style for less.
Things like basic t-shirts, hoodies, sweats, and camisoles can almost always be found for less than at a brand name store.
3. Know When to Splurge
There are some items that will require you to spend some money, and, as long as you are shopping budget-friendly, there shouldn’t be a problem making investment purchases.
For things like perfect-fitting denim, leather jackets, leather bags and boots, spend as much as you can afford and only buy one great piece.
You will re-wear them so many times that you will get the value back ten-fold.
Also, if you come across something that you absolutely love, go ahead and splurge on it, because you may never see it again.
4. Have Things Altered
A great way to save money is to buy clothes at reduced rates and then have them altered to fit your body.
Head to an outlet or a thrift store and do a little digging.
Skirts and dresses are some of the easiest things to take in, so try starting there.
Find styles that are close to fitting well, but have a few baggy areas.
Take them in to a tailor, pay around five to ten dollars, and you instantly have a perfectly-fitted new item.
5. Make Your Own
This is the best way to save money on clothes – don’t buy them.
Use old clothing that you have lying around and re-work them to make something new.
Turn old jeans into a denim pencil skirt, or cut the sleeves off a button down and have it taken in to make a summer blouse.
There are plenty of ways you can have some of your old favorites re-vamped so they feel and look just like new.
