best money saving tipsLooking for some money saving tips in retirement?

Hard working days are finally behind you and it is time to think about happy retirement time. A lot of you imaged your retirement time to be all about rest and warm sunny days.

Retirement becomes a great opportunity for many people to finally travel, explore new interests, hobbies and meet up with new people. All this sounds like a good plan.

Let’s discuss how to enjoy your time along with stretching carefully saved dollars throughout retirement years.

Grab a cup of hot chocolate, make yourself comfortable in a cosy arm chair and keep on reading this post with best money saving tips for your retirement.

By the way, if you are only 20 something and retirement time seems so far away, it is going to be interesting for you to get to know some important things about retirement that you will face in the future like everyone else.

Please take a look at these important money saving tips that will make your life in retirement more fun and stress free.

Perfect Place for Retirement

The very first thing to do is to find a perfect place for retirement where you can spend happy quite time. Even though when you read “perfect”, most likely an island with exotic fruits comes to your mind. It is better to have realistic expectations and find a good balance between nice neighbourhood and low property taxes.

In order to do that, please check out websites like ForSalebyOwner or Realtor.com.

They have a great listing of properties where you can also check property tax information. Spend some time online, do careful researches, find states with affordable land and construction costs.

Do not narrow your search to Internet only. There are many magazines devoted to retirement where you can find a lot of interesting and – what is even more important – useful information and money saving tips in retirement.

Social Security Benefits

This is one of the most important money saving tips.

You have to know about every Social Security Benefit available for you. Ask people, read your state’s law: don’t be lazy and spend some time to find out as much information as possible.

You might not know and as a result not use some benefits that can significantly reduce your budget and possibly increase your monthly pension.

Travel Smart

Traveling is an amazing thing. You get to learn new facts about world that surrounds you, meet new people and simply fulfil yourself with new emotions.

It’s ok if your budget is unlimited, but what if it’s not, then travel in groups! Travel Agency will be happy to provide a discount for a group of people.

Not only ask regarding a group discount, find out if you can get let’s say 10% off (since it’s usually senior’s discount) by simply being a retired. Use any given chance to take an advantage of your retirement.

There will be at least one person you know who has travel experience. Ask his/her opinion, check with travel agents online what offers they have for you.

Sell, Sell and Sell

This is one of my favorite money saving tips on how to get extra cash.

Do a garage sale, sell unneeded stuff on ebay or amazon. Don’t storage all that junk! What is the point?

Even better: sell some stuff for family and friends to get some extra bucks.

If you don’t feel like doing any of that, there is another good thing to do – donate. Being able to help someone is an awesome feeling.

As a conclusion, it will be fair to add: take the most out of your retirement, be a happy senior, smile to every day that comes, but never forget to be careful with your finances!
