In-Depth Diet-to-Go Review: Is there Any Truth to Diet Meal Plans?

Why I Decided to Try Diet-to-Go

diet meal plansBeing originally from the Ukraine, I really like to cook. From scratch. All those delicious meals like soups and stews, stuffed dumplings and piroghi and, of course, famous Borsch (beets and cabbage soup).

Besides cooking Ukrainian dishes I learnt how to make Asian, Italian and Mexican food. Don’t give me wrong – my husband is perfectly happy with that! But this is my biggest problem!

I come home from work quite late, make a delicious meal for my hubby and me. We eat a nice plate of mouthwatering super delicious and freshly made food, and then what?

We go and serve ourselves with second helping, because it’s soooo good! Guess what? A couple of hours later we go to bed stuffed like turkeys, which definitely isn’t good for our waistlines.

So, it became harder and harder to lose those few extra pounds that we don’t need in our 40s.

I finally came to the conclusion: a healthy diet meal plan with portion control – this is what I need!

Therefore, after doing a little research, I decided to give it a shot to Diet-to-Go and see if that works for me.

Diet-to-Go Meal Plans Options

Diet-to-Go reviews

There are 3 options for these healthy diet meal plans:

1)   low-fat

2)   low-carbohydrate

3)   vegetarian meal plan

They offer a 100% guarantee that you will be completely satisfied with your food with no contract or any kind of commitment.

The great news is also that any Diet-to-Go meals can be replaced for allergies or dislikes.

Diet-to-Go Meal Plan Cost

I chose a perfect low-fat meal plan for myself: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner – 15 complete meals based on 1,200 calorie diet plan that is great for women.

The Diet-to-Go diet meal plan cost $112.99. They had a special offer of 20% off on all meal plans that I took advantage of (Yeah!), so it cost me even less – $90.30.

If you are used to eat at fast food joints 3 times a day, you probably spend around $20-25/day + cost of gas + driving time, and consume more calories than you ever need. Most of those meals are not that healthy.

Diet-to-go is definitely a more convenient and much healthier option, because:

1)   You don’t skip breakfast – the most important meal of the day – and eat quite a nutritious and delicious meal without making an effort

2)   Your lunch is different every day and always stays within the same amount of calories which is great for weight loss

3)  Every Diet-to-Go meal, including dinner, looks like a chef prepared meal and gives you more time to enjoy your evening and not deal with chopping, cooking, cleaning up late at night.

Diet-to-Go Shipping Cost

Diet-to-GoShipping was via FedEx and cost $18.95. I thought it was a little pricey but considering the fact you are getting a huge heavy box with 15 meals, it does not seem that expensive.

My package was mailed on Monday, and by Wednesday early afternoon I had it at my door. So shipping was pretty fast.

Diet-to-Go: Day 1

I measured my waist, my hips and weighed myself, so I can see if I got any results at the end of the week and compare the numbers.

Here are my main numbers at the beginning of the week:

Weight – 125 lbs.

Waist – 31 inches

Hips – 35 inches

Diet-to-Go Menu:

Diet-to-Go ReviewBreakfast: Egg and Broccoli Pie with cinnamon apple sauce and a box of apple juice (please check out my pictures).

weekly diet meal plansLunch: Michigan Style Turkey Sandwich with salsa, Strawberry Explosion Dannon smoothie and an apple.

Diet-to-Go ReviewDinner: Curried Shrimp with Basmati Rice accompanied by minted peas and carrots.

I must admit. It looked very appetizing and seemed like lots of food for a healthy diet!

All of the meals arrived frozen, so I put them in the freezer. I would take out 1-2 days worth of Diet-to-Go meals and put them in the fridge to get them slowly defrosted.

You can put them in the conventional oven (only 10-15 minutes) or microwave (1-2 minutes) to heat them up. Whatever you prefer. Some breakfast and lunch items do not need to be heated.

2 Little Confessions to Make about my Diet-to-Go Week

Confession #1.

I hardly exercised this week because I was really busy with work. I just took two 20 minutes walks and that was it!

Confession #2.

I ate some extra fruit and added half a glass of orange or grape juice every day to my Diet-to-Go menu. I just can’t live without them!

Diet-to-Go End of Week Results

Beginning: Weight – 125 lbs.      End of Week: Weight – 122 lbs.

                  Waist – 31 inches                           Waist – 30 inches

                  Hips – 35 inches                             Hips – 34 inches

What a shocker and at the same time eye-opener for me! I lost 3 pounds without even trying and hardly exercising.

On top of that I had a pretty easy week: I did not have to do grocery shopping, cooking or washing dishes (not my favorite thing!). I really liked that.

Another good part of this Diet-to-Go experience was the fact that I did not have to count calories or carbs and all the meals were low in sodium and contained literally everything – fruits, vegetables, and condiments – in one inclusive package.

These are really great healthy diet meal plans for people with busy lifestyles who are trying to lose weight and at the same time want to eat convenient, delicious and nutritious, competitively priced meals in the convenience of their home, thus having more precious time to spend with their loved ones.

How about you? Have you ever tried healthy diet meal plans including Diet-to-Go?

Very informative article, Elena! How much would it cost for two people to use this plan per month. Our grocery bill including non-food items for one month is about $260. Could we match that on such a plan or come close?

Hi guys! That is a really good question! I think this Diet-to-Go program would work well for someone who wants to lose wait and has no time and discipline to do it. So pre-made healthy and delicious meals with limited calories can be really handy. But if we are talking about a family on a budget, it would not be cost effective to do it, because you always have to pay more for convenience. It’s always less expensive to buy groceries and make your own meals. You just need to be more self-conscious about how much you eat and what you eat. Thanks for stopping by and checking out my article!

That would be really convenient to have everything together ready for you. You don’t have to count calories or make it; it’s just there. That would save some time too. I don’t know if this would be a good option for me, but I can definitely see how some people would benefit from doing this.

I agree Steve, this option might not be for everyone. Some people might find it pricey or some food options not to their liking, but I really like the concept of pre-made meals that are quite delicious and contain the right amount of calories you need per day. Thanks for your feedback Steve!
